She’ll tell you what to do right now.’ He did, and that’s how Apple built Siri. He didn’t build a bunch of software, she built software. And if it’s done right, it can do it all.”
The company does have plans for Siri and how it may eventually be used.
“It depends on a few things,” Cook said. “It needs to have more functionality. What do you want her to do next? Some of them are things you could already do with Apple Watch, some of them will be different, but it needs more functionality. She needs a little bit more intelligence.
“If you use Siri a bit incorrectly, you can cause her some trouble,” Cook added. “She’s in the middle of something and you’re trying to help her with it. But in the future we’re not so worried about that and we’ve got other tools that are going to allow us to do a lot more with Siri.”
As for Siri, which is expected to have full-text search capability in the future and voice translation between the different European languages, Cook said he’s not sure when that will happen.
