You already know the answer, yeah? Now, what can you do if you’re a beginner. Here’s a great beginner jazz ukulele lesson, which starts off by going on an interesting tangent about why no one wants to hear something like this at the beginner’s level, and then dives into how to learn the basic rhythm patterns.
I love this video and it’s great to hear these two wonderful players playing together. They’re having a great time, even going out one or two octaves to play the ukulele like this. I love seeing an easy, fun and fun to learn instrument being played by two awesome players in a fun and entertaining situation. If you haven’t already, get your jazz ukulele playing started and do these two lessons now.
Here’s a good beginner ukulele lesson, from one of my favorites, Chris Dreyfuss (you probably know him as the bassist featured in J.D. Salinger’s “Catcher in the Rye”), which goes to the basics, the fundamental exercises. This is one of those beginner ukulele lessons that can be performed all day and night! I’m a big fan of this approach for beginners, it’s simple, the exercises are fun and easy learning the basic pattern and then adding other tunes is easier and more fun than writing one chord sequence and then trying to keep it in tune and play it in a group. Just enjoy the practice and see how you like to practice!
Do this to your ukulele. Just add in a few more songs and see which ones you enjoy the most.
Here’s a great ukulele lesson from Joe Gatto (also featured in the movie “Catcher in the Rye”), called “Getting Started.” He goes through three exercises and then shares the way that he goes through every single tune he tries to play, from the very beginning. He teaches you the key of the most famous string quintet around, the Fender Stratocasters.
Listen to Joe Gatto sing this lovely tune, and then let the rest of this album do the rest while you continue to learn how to play. I really recommend going through this before tackling any jazz instrument, just in case there’s something a little easier or harder on your ukulele than other uke’s out there. If you are going to get really serious playing you will find that there are plenty of different ukuleles to choose from. But for
