The process begins with a small tattoo gun that is applied to the skin by a person trained in tattooing.
The small gun is threaded to fit into a hollow socket that goes on the skin beneath the tattoo. When the tattoo needs to be removed, it’s held in place using a small screwdriver or a pliers.

More than 100,000 people will line the streets of Rome for the biggest mass protest yet against corruption in government and the country’s economy.
The rally is one of over 2,000 that the march will put up in cities across the country on the first anniversary of the resignation of Italian President Giorgio Napolitano.
The rally is set to take place across Italy next Thursday.
Organisers are planning to call for the resignation of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, who many say ignored the calls for him to step down after hundreds of thousands of people protested against his government for failing to tackle the country’s worst debt crisis in 80 years.
The Pope has asked the people of Italy to make history tomorrow, and it’s looking to be a historic day.
This morning, the crowds gathered at the same spot in Rome where many rallied against Napolitano’s resignation last month.
Organisers said it was the largest movement yet organised in the world against corruption in politics.
The event took up a large section of the main square, which is a popular meeting point for protesters.
The march is going to coincide with the opening of Rome’s annual festival, which includes the annual Carnevale opera troupe and a march past central Rome’s Vatican City where Pope Francis gives the Benediction.
Organisers have asked that people bring as few bags as possible, and said they would try to keep the crowd as peaceful as possible.
They have also asked that people should refrain from wearing “further expressions of political sentiment that may have an impact on security.”
