The first step in getting the best results from your home theater is finding some great equipment. But how much should you spend? The good news is that you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars, but a little know-how can give you the best results. I’ve compiled the best sound cables on the market for your home theater so that you can get the best results for your budget.
My Recommended Home Theater Cables:
I’ve personally invested hundreds of dollars into a few different cables over the years, and I’ve learned the lessons from each of them so you too can save money and achieve the sounds you want for your home theater. I’ve included links to each cable’s manufacturer and/or a description of what I like about each one.
If you’re looking for more information about a specific set of cables, I’ll also be posting reviews for everything listed in the below categories.
Slimline: These cables have excellent sound-quality, with many cables being able to handle bass that’s up to 20dB without any compromise.
Soundbars: If you’re looking for a single cable that delivers great results with an affordable price tag, look no further than the Soundbars. This combo of low-profile mics (with 1″ cable length) delivers great sound quality and is a great choice for low-cost DIY projects or even for small setups.
Speakers: If you’re looking for the best price, I’d also recommend checking out the A/V/M cable line which is designed to support many brands of speakers, and which we recommend to build soundbars around.
Cables with more than one speaker impedance: I’d only recommend these cables with 2.5kHz speakers. They are not a stand-alone solution and cannot deliver enough signal to fully drive a subwoofer. Most cable options with multiple speakers will need additional equipment in order to properly run 3 or more high-impedance speakers and make sound quality sound as good as it can.
Cables with a 4-8ohm impedance: We recommend using a cable at least 8 ohms. These cables are not the cheapest, but they provide high sound quality and can deliver enough signal for many speakers.
High-Impedance Cables: The best way for the DIY home theater to go is with
